The United States Foreign policy in the Middle East Since the United States became the world’s sole superpower, the Middle East has been seen as the most troublesome region in the world by US politicians. This view emanates from all the conflicts going in the Middle East that have the potential to threaten numerous strategic interests for the united Stated such as oil, terrorist, and Israel. Yet Middle East has never seen as problematic as it is now due to the excessive flux of problems the Middle East is struggling with. This increasingly conflicting nature of the region demands the US policymakers to reevaluate American policy in the Middle East to secure US interests. British paid Jordan’s bills, supplied, and ran the army during 1950s’. London backed North Yemen to comb at the rising threat of Egypt in the Arabian Peninsula to Iraq’s designs on Kuwait. British view of the region was not the favorite to Americans. The United States prevented France and Britain from overthrowing Gamal ‘Abd al-Nasser in 1956. In part for that reason, when Britain announced its withdrawal from â€Å"East of Suez† in 1971, Eisenhower Administration was reluctant to their place. The United States tried to invest into regional proxies primarily Israel, Iran, and Saudi Arabia to serve protecting Western interests in the region. But in 1979, Shah of Iran was overthrown and replaced Ayatollah Khomeini. The threat his revolutionary Iranian state posed to American allies across the region led the United States to become militarily involved in the Persian Gulf for the first time, a commitment expanded when Iran’s defeat (with American assistance) in the Iran-Iraq War created the opportunity for Saddam Hussain to invade Kuwait and pose a threat to the region’s vital oil exports. One of the key attributes amongst living things is communication. There are many ways for humans to communicate, whether it is face to face, telegrams, snail mail, texting, et cetera. The form of communication that has rapidly increased over the years is social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Google Plus, et cetera. In fact, according to Pew Internet, as of 2012, eighty-one percent of teenagers who use the Internet are using it for social networking sites (Madden et al.). Furthermore, as of May 2013, seventy-two percent of adults who are online are social networking sites users, which is five percent higher than a year ago and sixty-four percent higher than where it was in February 2005 (Brenner and Smith). With the†¦show more content†¦There is a fear of someone hacking into a person’s account and steal valuable information of said person to use for malicious purposes, such as identity theft, for instance. If the wrong person is successful in st ealing another person’s information, the results could be potentially devastating for the victim. Another con of using social networking sites is that it can be addictive if someone spends too much time on them. This could have dire consequences if students are spending too much time chatting with their friends on Facebook, an employee playing games on social networking sites instead of working on productivity reports, just to name a couple of scenarios. There is even a possibility of someone incurring health problems, such as sleep deprivation, joint problems, and blurry vision, just to name a few examples, from spending too much time on social networking sites. A potential setback to spending too much time on social networking sites is that if people – especially teenagers – engage in hypernetworking (spending more than three hours a day on social networking sites, such as Facebook or MySpace), it could lead to some dangerous vices, such as smoking, binge drinking, other illicit drugs use, et cetera; at least this is true according to Scott Frank, the lead researcher of the study conducted by the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine (Payne). Answer: The nurses with BSN degrees have evidenced to give better care to the patients as stated by the researchers of American Association of Colleges of Nursing. A study on patient care issue was published in October of 2014. Olga Yakusheva A researcher if Michigan University along with her co-workers found that there was a 10.9 % lowering of patient mortality with a 10% increment of BSN nurses. In the study, it was also found that an increment in the number of BSN nurses to 80% significantly lowers the readmission cases and shortens the period of treatment (Ellenbecker, 2010). BSN is the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and this is an undergraduate course of four years. However, ADN or Associates degree nursing is a two years program of professional development, which provides the necessary skills and knowledge for working as a nurse. Between these two programs, BSN has a longer training period and it provides the students with practical knowledge and leadership skills that are very much required as a professional nurse (Kowalski Cross., 2010). I agree with the research because a higher education and a prolonged training period make a difference in the patient care system and other clinical practices. Both of the programs include the basic curriculum of nursing such as pediatrics, maternal and newborn nursing, adult health nursing and sometimes psychiatric and community health nursing is also included. But in the BSN programme, these subjects are covered with more details along with some extra programs like nursing research and nursing informatics (Ellenbec ker, 2010). In UCEF medical center, it has been evidenced that the post surgery complications are much lesser in the case of those patients who were looked after by BSN. The Henchmen: German Government Officials in WWII Many people have contributed to the cruel treatment of human beings, specifically Jews, in Nazi Germany during the second World War. This is a report on the damage carried out by some of the Nazi criminals working under the rule of Adolf Hitler. Many people contributed in Hitler's attempt to carry out his 'Final Solution'. Among these people are Ernst Roehm, Joseph Goebbels, Adolf Himmler, and Hermann Wilhelm Goering. While I discuss how they partook in World War Two, keep in mind their actions will, and have, left a mark on the world forever. Little is known about Ernst Roehm's childhood. He was a quiet boy who never went looking for trouble and didn't express hatred towards anyone, mostly because his parents were Libertarians and never paid attention to the politics in Germany's heartland. In college, Hitler's ideas and notions had a strong impact on Roehm's personality. Though Roehm never graduated, he joined the Free Corps, a group of soldiers dedicated to changing injustices in the German government. After a while, Roehm started to grow tired of the Free Corp's non- violent style, and he was tempted to be more of an activist in government reform. Hitler, looking to recruit fellow officers in his plan, then in it's infancy, liked Roehm's strong presence and personality. Roehm, jobless and nowhere to go, joined Hitler's office. After Hitler was elected into office some years later, he split his dictatorship into different divisions. Roehm, being one of the original officers, was chosen as head of the Sturmabteilung, or SA, commonly referred to as the Brownshirts and storm-troopers. By 1932, the Brownshirts had reached more than 400,000 members. All types of men who Hitler saw fit enough to join were members. Among them were ex-Free Corps soldiers like Roehm, students who weren't able to find jobs, shopkeepers who went out of business or weren't profitable enough, the unemployed, uneducated, and common criminals. As you can see, they were a very diverse bunch. Roehm had full power over where they demonstrated and protested. What was their cause? None really. They were merely an idea of Hitler's to spread his popularity, as well as the Nazi Party's. They roamed the streets of Munich, often drunk, singing racist stanzas from songs, beating anyone they thought, judging just from appearance who they thought was a Jew or a Communist. Roehm screamed to the marching storm-troopers, "We will brawl our way to greatness." He enjoyed violence for it's own sake, and he is quoted as saying to reporters after they burned down a kosher diner, in which he also had the left side of his nose shot off, "Since I am an immature and wicked man, war and unrest appeal to me more than order." In one incident, Joseph Goebbels and Hermann Goering, heads of other Nazi divisions, jealous of Roehm and the rest of the Brownshirt's public popularity, even though they had more power internally, conspired against Roehm and the storm-troopers. They forged letters and documents to Hitler in Roehm's name, in which confessions of high treason were written. Many members of the storm-troopers were executed. When Hitler himself came to partake in the executions, they started screaming "Heil Hitler", the salute to Hitler. Hitler realized that the documents had been forged, and let the rest, including Roehm go free. Hitler and the storm-troopers never found out who had written them. Another incident of a much greater magnitude was 'the night of long knives', on June 30, 1934. Hitler cut off relations with all his fellow branches except the SS. He let most of them all go, except members of the storm-troopers. They were all executed, and Roehm insisted that Hitler kill him. He felt any other person to kill him would be considered unfaithful to Hitler and an undignified death. Hitler killed him and in all of World War Two Ernst Roehm remained the only person to ever die by Hitler's bullets. Another henchman of Hitler's, Joseph Goebbels, born in 1897, in Rheydt, Germany and the son of peasants, probably had the most effect on Germany's society and public life. A childhood bone disease stunted his growth, so he didn't grow more than 5 feet and he walked with a limp. His actions are well documented since he kept a diary of almost everything in his political life.
